To provide a forum for multi-disciplinary professionals working in the field of psychotrauma to share ideas and knowledge relevant to their work in the field

UK Trauma Services

In the UK there are many dedicated NHS and private psychological trauma services. We have listed the services that were available from the UK Trauma Group website and responded to our contact to update their information. There may however be several who have yet to respond to us and others that we are unaware of. Please encourage those services to contact us to be added to our list here. Call for Service User Representative Board Member

The UKPTS is a multi-disciplinary organisation of professionals working in the field of psychological trauma to share ideas and knowledge relevant to their work in the field. We are keen to recruit (co-opt) a service user representative who can help the rest of the board  ensure that people who have been affected by traumatic stress, and those who care for them, have a say in how we run the organisation. The position has become available as our previous service user representative retired recently after many years with the UKPTS.

The majority of the Board are elected and carry out individually, and as a team, a number of roles which aim to promote best practice in service delivery, research and policy in relation to traumatic stress in the UK and indeed globally. The position, as with all the UKPTS board positions is unpaid. The board meets face to face at least twice a year with a further teleconference twice a year. The Society runs conferences and works with other organisations to promote best practice. We are looking for someone who has personal experience of being affected by traumatic stress in some way and who can make a meaningful contribution to the UKPTS’ work (see the home page for more detail of the Society’s aims). It is important that the service user representative is able to work with other board members and feels able to represent service users’ views including, but not limited, to their own.

Travel and other expenses will be covered (with prior agreement from Board Members).

If you feel you might be interested in the role please contact us via email at admin@ukpts.co.uk
