Annual Conference 2012

Annual UKPTS Conference March 13 & 14, 2012, Apex International Hotel, Edinburgh, UK.

Tuesday March 13 will include three Keynote lectures, starting with Dr. Richard Meiser-Stedman - Discussing PTSD in Preschoolers, Children, and Adolescents – Resilience, Recovery and Remedy.  In the afternoon Pamela Dix, On the Receiving End of Trauma, and concluding with Dr. Michael Paterson OBE - Innovations in the Practice of EMDR.

There will be the following three hour workshops taking place between the moning and afternoon Keynote speeches:

1. Working Therapeutically with Trafficked Adults and Young People within a Human Rights Context: Dr. Sharon Doherty & Rachel Morley  

2. Integrating EMDR & Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Colin Howard & Dr. Frank Corrigan

3. Trauma-focussed CBT for Traumatised Children & Adolescents*: David Trickey

4. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to Help People Live Well after Trauma: Dr. David Gillanders & Dr. Lesley Hunter

5. Boundary Issues in Trauma Treatment: Dr. Chris Freeman

6. Trauma-focussed CBT for Traumatised Adults *: Dr. Paula Easton & Dr. Katharine Logan. 

 

A Fullday Masterclass with Professor John Briere, USA 

Wednesday 14 March will be a Masterclass fullday workshop by Professor John Briere, USA - Advances in the Integrated Treatment of Complex Trauma.  N.B. This workshop is supported by NHS Education Scotland (NES) who will be offering funded places to NHS Scotland staff.
